I am not normally the first to do anything but had to say how great the new Russian infantry units are looking, and having seen some of the other units in the teaser videos the animations look excellent as well.

I am looking forward to map making when the first version becomes available. The period spanned by the new MOD is my favourite (especially since the uniforms will even allow the time frame to be slightly extended backwards to include the War of the Spanish Succession).

It is often overlooked in favour of the Napoleonic period but the characters involved and the drama of the battles are just as good, if not sometimes better. The types of battles are diverse as well which will provide good strategic gameplay, it is not all just two lines of infantry stretching across a line of defensive villages, some of Frederick the Great's manouveres mean that you have one force sandwiched between two opposing forces coming from opposite sides of the maps. (some may recall this map from FB, the Austrians had the biggest collection of artillery ever assembled on a battlefield up to that point).

In eager anticipation,

Stu
