Well, as you know Stu had redone his Borodino map, and now the new creation is our featured version of this battle, on the web site.
Now, Stu has created an interpretation of Austerlitz that he is much happier with...take a look and se what you think.

Masterpiece!
Honestly, it's the best map I've ever seen in terms of appearance.
Can't wait to test it soon!

Comparing this version to the last, it seems the French have had their teeth pulled on this map with less cavalry which was the main advantage in the previous version. I can't see the French pulling this one off very often with a weakened side.

Well lastnight me and snider beat Drake and GW as the French. However the Allies attacked just like the real battle up north and snider defended down south.
It is a great map and I am not sure though if the French could win attacking though.

Yeah, were testing this with Allies obligated to attack, to reflect the moment when the Austrians and Russians came down from the Praetzen and around their own left to assault the French...GW and I were Allies yesterday and were soundly defeated..want to see how more battles like this go though I shall be adjusting the cannon ratios more than likely. _________________

It was the "Lions Leap" French counter attack that won this battle for the French and I think the cavalry played a major part in it.

Yeah, sorry SW, I edited my comment above...GW and I were the Allies (Green team) the other day and we were defeated...the French cavalry played quite a heavy role in our defeat.
We shall have to play this again, but this time French obligated to attack, see how it goes. _________________

SW is right, I tired to limit the French a little in this version. In the older map I recall that the French Cavalry were a mighty foe that if grouped could sweep across the entire map.
In the real battle the cavalry were much better suited altough the allied handling was poorer. I hoped to reflect that in just a slight advantage in numbers for the French with heavies so that they are superior, but can still be beaten with skillful handling.
Let me know how testing comes along.

not played this now for a few weeks, but the numerous occcassions I have, Ive thoroughly enjoyed it. think the last time was a 2v2 with Schooner and I def as French and Drake I believe with a newer guest attacking. Schooner held the ridge with great determination and I was fortunate to face the nwer guy in the south.
I moved into position with a large force and i scouted into their rear lines, nicking artillery and scouting their manouevres and also killed one or two generals ( hehehe )
The southern flank of the allies moved across the map towards the centre too early without scouting and my forces held the line of def south of the ridge and then my hidden force moved in and assaulted from the flank / rear / total decimation for the poor allied forces. _________________
